On Friday 23 Nov, the SEMEA CR team joined TNT UAE volunteers for the "Clean up the World" initiative organized by Dubai Municipality and Emirates Marine Environmental Group (EMEG). They had a good time and participated in clean up activity along the EMEG Ghantoot Reserve which is popular for the sea turtles and other marine life.

Two of the most remarkable events were the Fight Hunger Week of TNT UK and the Food Bonanza of TNT India.
Fight Hunger Week
TNT UK devoted the entire week preceding Walk the World to WFP. During their annual Fight Hunger Week, employees around the country made a huge effort to put hunger in a spotlight through creative and fun activities, raising a staggering amount of money along the way. Funds are still rolling in from all the events and it looks like they will raise more than £40,000.
12 months later and I am about to do it again! In 48 hours’ time I will be on the starting line with other 40 000 runners for the 2010 edition of the Paris Marathon! It all begun last year when I ran the first Marathon to raise funds for the World Food Programme (WFP), the response was good from my friends, family and colleagues. I raised almost 1500 Euros that was donated to WFF via my company, TNT Express. I hope to raise the same amount this year besides the credit crunch!
The event, organised by Group Head Office and Express Divisional Head Office in Hoofddorp, Netherlands, sold almost 100 pieces of art to more than 200 employees, family and friends who participated on May 7. The overriding purpose was not just to buy art and to have fun, but to raise proceeds for the WFP.

As the Christmas rush hits the sorting offices of TNT Post, hundreds of TNT employees, their friends and family and other volunteers gather together to work an evening shift in the centres to raise money for WFP projects in Malawi. 4 hours sorting post and parcels of 1 volunteer yields enough money to feed and educate a child in Malawi for a whole year.

The eight cyclists, five of whom work for TNT and all of whom were sponsored by TNT, set off on the 1,600km journey on 17th May and passed through Paris and Brussels to arrive in Rotterdam in time for the Walk the World event on 1st June. There they were met and welcomed home by Peter Bakker CEO and Bert Koenders, Minister of Development Cooperation, at the foot of the Erasmus Bridge.
