Vasilios Panoutsakopoulos, who won the Greek pre-round, describes himself, his daily challenges and shares his feeling about the final.
Describe yourself in 20 words.
I can do it in only 3 words as my values are: Country, Religion (Faith) & Family.
How do you feel as a pre-round winner?
I feel not different than before.
Did you expect to win?
No, cause all my fellow colleagues were also very capable.
What kind of driver are you?
Lately I’m operating a small truck of 3.5 tn with hydraulic tail lift. I feel I’m passive kind of driver.
Describe briefly a typical workday.
I start at 07:00 loading heavy freight mainly 48N service, then go out and deliver the first wave. Then coming back to depot around 10:00 to load some heavy 15N shipments (or more 48N) to deliver and of course to collect PU Orders assigned to my round.
What do you like about your job?
Every day is a different one, every day I face different challenges.
What kind of issues do you run into?
Sometimes I have to perform deliveries & collections in very narrow streets. I’m also challenged by the volume of the cargo (heavy, multi pallet shipments) and the fact that my round is not geographically specific (I operate different round every day as my job depends of cargo that it is not possible to fit in Standard PUD Van (without tail lift)
What do you think drive me can bring into your life?
It will definitely influence (like all trainings we did all these years in TNT) my driving habits in my personal life.
Do you think your team will win also the final?
I believe we have the potential. Even if participating for the first time can be stressful, we feel confident.
To whom would you like to dedicate your victory?
If I win I will dedicate the victory to my current and past colleagues in TNT Greece.
