This year is a very special year in the partnership between TNT and WFP: ten years together, sharing competences, know how, sweat and hard work. This is why TNT France decided to organize a series of WtW events in Lyon, Paris, Marseille and Besançon which involved more than 400 people who celebrated this important anniversary.
The kick-off event was held on June 15 in Lyon, at TNT France’s head office, where Managing Director François Baret gave a speech focussing on the 10 year partnership with WFP recalling the beginning of this great adventure, that has allowed to accomplish so much, before thanking all the colleagues for their engagement and support. After that a very special “treasure hunt” began..yes, that’s right, a treasure hunt with 11 teams of 5 people each! A moment of great fun for participants, and not only for them, entertained by the teams trying to uncover the hidden treasures before each other. The riddles to solve in order to advance in the hunt were home made using topics like WFP, hunger, Solidarity, and were written not only to have fun but also to raise awareness on hunger and the partnership itself. Did it end here? Of course it didn’t..could French cuisine not have a part in all of this? After the treasure hunt everyone had a "bite to eat" and enjoyed a big picnic with colleagues and suppliers!
In Paris, at Claye Souilly’s stadium, a “sports day” was organized and attended by 300 people, also including a football tournament, a dart game, a flea market and many activities to for kids, finishing off with a barbecue.
Through the lottery organised in all TNT depots, TNT France managed to raise more than 10.000 euros, which will be transferred to WFP West Africa, showing the great spirit and determination of its employees. As commented by Antoine RESK DIOMANDE, Solidarity projects coordinator, « We are very proud this year with WTW in France because we saw so much commitment, dynamism and generosity from our colleagues. I’d like to thank the organizing staff of Lyon, Paris, Besançon, Marseille and all the people who helped us make these events happen. This 10th anniversary of TNT-WFP partnership has been a great success!”.
Au revoir to next year!
